On Tuesday, 29th November, significant and pleasant event took place: blessing and grand opening of the newly built part of the building. Bishop Andrzej Czaja - Ordinary of the Diocese of Opole - celebrated the ceremony himself. We were also honored with the presence of Jolanta Barska - major of Nysa and Adam Fujarczuk - Nysa country governor. The presentation about past 17 years of Hospice history and its meaning to the local society was shown to the honorable guests.

The very same day, in the afternoon, Hospice invited everyone for an Open Day. About 50 people discretely visited the building; there were students from high school, PWSZ Nysa, and more than a dozen University of the Third Age auditors. |

Summer-autumn 2011.
All summer and part of autumn was the time of intensive work in the new part of the Hospice. Finally, on 25th October, we got the permission to use newly built part of the building. This way Hospice received extended Palliative Clinic and House Hospice space, as well as new consulting room and professional conference room (which will also be used as a training and meeting room). Conference room took its` baptism of fire on 8th November 2011, when Auxilium Society met - for the first time in its own headquarters.

Our Charity Concert this year, being always a part of autumn "Hospice is also life" campaign, was slightly ahead of the timeframe. It took place on 15th September 2011, all of that because of incoming renovation of Cultural Center in Nysa. Mr. Zbigniew Wodecki was the main performing artist (he made it all for charity). The concert was tremendous and, in the same breath, during the auction we raised 9500 zlotys.

The external audit took place in our Hospice. It was the culmination of almost annual efforts to obtain the ISO certificate.
This project not only motivated us to fulfill standards – which are obligatory for us in any case - better, but also confirmed the high quality of work in our hospice.

We had the traditional spring Day of Reflection in the hospitable Oblates monastery of Holy Virgin Mary in Bodzanów near Głuchołazy.
In addition to relaxing psychological exercises, walks in the park and a spiritual conference, we had the Mass in our intentions. Afterwards, there was a feast outdoors.

Spring 2011
Before the winter 2010/2011 we were able to cover newly added floor (130 square metres of the area) of the new segment in a flat roof and fit new windows.
Since December 2010 the building work moved indoors, not only in the new but also in the old part of the first floor, which was divided into the office and psychological study.
At the beginning of the spring 2011 the elevation was completed.
Nowadays, bricklaying and decorating of the new floor is being continued.
It is believed to finish all work at the end of the summer, i.e. in September 2011.

News 2007/2008
For the whole second half of 2007 we were busy having the hospice extension redecorated. In accordance with our project ,we got two bright rooms for patients, a genuine duty-room overlooking patients' rooms , two spacious bathrooms , a bedding storage room and dirty bedding storage room . In the basement there are two spacious garages and big additional storage space. At the moment there are 12 beds comfortably located in the hospice ward, financed with the support the Opole branch of the National Health Fund.

The great chapel- the first one in the hospice is a separate thing to be proud of for us. It is not too big , but thanks to the wide moving door it can be open to the neighbouring patients' rooms. Next to the chapel, we managed to find some space for a tiny sacristy which allows us to take the proper care of a Sunday mass and it is a good place for a penitent's confession or may serve as a right place for a discreet conversation if need be.
The culmination point of the process of building the extension was the insulation of the hospice and having it plastered. The finishing touch consisted in having the ground around the building levelled and a new basalt surface in the car park with necessary drain pipes put. Now "the only" thing left is to pay back the existing bank loan for the next many years to come.

On 26 January, 2008 the solemn opening of the hospice extension took place. Bishop Jan Baginsky from Opole blessed the new patients' rooms and chapel and the first mass gathered not only the patients, personnel and society management but also the representatives of local authorities and a few sponsors. Bishop Baginski showed deep respect for the hospice staff for their service to the incurably ill. He also showed his admiration to the society members and sponsors for their care about the hospice.
Occurrences
In December we gathered together to celebrate Christmas almost a week before Christmas Eve. Usually we invite the management of Auxilium Hospice Society to our solemn meal to emphasize the importance of their work which is really crucial for our peace of mind.
